Astrya Global, a San Diego–based medical staffing agency, is looking for an Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP/PA) for a full-time role at a Children’s Hospital in San Francisco, CA. This role will include providing high-level care for children who require continuous monitoring, such as those recovering from solid organ transplantation, requiring non-invasive mechanical ventilation including BIPAP, CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, titration of anticoagulant therapy, and post-operative specialty surgery care (ENT, neurosurgery).

Qualifications of Pediatric Critical Care Nurse practitioner or Physician assistant (NP/PA):

  • Active California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License

  • Board Certification

  • DEA Certification

  • Proficiency in EPIC

  • COVID vaccine + booster

  • 1 year PICU, PCICU, or Peds Hospitalist experience

Duties/Responsibilities of Pediatric Critical Care Nurse practitioner or Physician assistant (NP/PA):

  • Provide urgent care services with a focus on triaging and treating higher acuity pediatric patients

  • Collaborate with support staff and supervising physician

  • Document patient encounters accurately

  • Adhere to shift schedule and provide flexible coverage as needed

  • Treat patients that are recovering from surgery such as those recovering from solid organ transplantation

  • Provide care to patients with a moderate to high complexity of disease
